Recipe : Millionaires' Shortbread

Monday, June 08, 2015 Unknown 0 Comments

Recipe of the day : Millionaires' Shortbread

Recipes adapted from HERE

  • For the shortbread:
  • 250g plain flour
  • 75g caster sugar
  • 175g butter, softened

  • For the caramel:
  • 100g butter or margarine
  • 100g sugar ( I only used 70g of sugar )
  • 2 x 397g cans condensed milk ( I only used 1 cans of condense milk)

  • For the topping:
200g plain or milk chocolate, broken into pieces

METHOD

  1. Pre-heat the oven to 180'C
  2. To make the shortbread, mix the flour and caster sugar in a bowl. Rub in the butter until the mixture resembles fine breadcrumbs. Knead the mixture together until it forms a dough, then press into the base of the prepared tin. Prick the shortbread lightly with a fork and bake in the pre-heated oven for about 20 minutes or until firm to the touch and very lightly browned. Cool in the tin.
  3. To make the caramel, measure the butter, sugar and condensed milk into a pan and heat gently until the sugar has dissolved. Bring to the boil, stirring all the time, then reduce the heat and simmer very gently, stirring continuously, for about 5 minutes or until the mixture has thickened slightly. Pour over the shortbread and leave to cool.
  4. For the topping, melt the chocolate slowly in a bowl over a pan of hot water. Pour over the cold caramel and leave to set. Cut into squares or bars.

Sunday, June 07, 2015 Unknown 0 Comments

Recently, I went to Pilot Cafe at Nilai, Negeri Sembilan. The cafe was so beautiful, they decorated it with airplanes and other stuff that related to aviation

Ok now, let us proceed to the FOOD

[Banana Split]
Rate: 3.5/5.0
Price: RM 6.90

Taste superb, and I love the caramel sauce and marshmallow with the banana split.

[Fettucini Carbonara]
Rate: 3.5/5.0
Price: RM12.90

The dish taste quite good, but it feels like it lack something in it. Sadly, the food was cold when it was served, I like it flaming hot !

[Kampung Fried Rice]
Rate: 4.0/5.0
Price: RM 5.90

[Chicken Chop]
Rate 3.0/5.0
Price: RM 15.90

The chicken chop sauce taste kinda different from other restaurant. It taste like rendang or maybe taste like mashed potato?
I think they should add a bit of black pepper and spices in the sauces.

One of my favourites. The taste of strawberry and vanilla ice cream that are topped over crunchy edge toast will make you smile.

[NUTELLA BANANA HONEY TOAST]
Rate: 4.0/5.0
It taste quite good, especially with banana and chocolate ice cream.

[CARAMEL HONEY BREAD]
Rate: 2.5/5.0
It just a toast, honey and whipped cream.

[BLUEBERRY DELUXE BINGSU]
Rate: 4.5/5.0
Ice cream and blueberry tart on top of the shaved iced. The textures of the shaved ice is very fine and smooth as it will melt down the moment you ate it. And it is so super duper yummy.

Rate: 2.0/5.0
I did not remember the menu name of this cake. But this cake taste quite soapy, and like seriously I did not know whether my taste buds has gone wrong, or this cake that taste like that.

Review: Namoo Grey Korean Cafe

Saturday, June 06, 2015 Unknown 0 Comments

Interior design of the cafe.
Namoo Grey Korean Cafe have nice decoration, unfortunately I did not capture the deco.

Feel wanna cry right now, LOL.

Comfortable and relaxing

[SALTED ICE CREAM CARAMEL POPCORN BINGSOO]
Rate: 3.0/5.0
The shaved ice taste quite bland, unless you mixed the ice cream, caramel and popcorn together.

And yes, it is bingsoo, where you should mix them up, but to my preferences, they should add something to the ice. They taste ice-ly. LOL

The bingsoo taste heavenly after you mix them up.

And one more thing, the popcorn become soft when you mix it with ice cream and ice. And I expect something crunchy from this ice cream.

So gotta go right now, cause I wanna find the crunchiness of my life. Metaphor

Ciao
